The International School for Advanced Studies is a scientific center of excellence within the national and international academic scene. The three main research areas of SISSA are Physics, Neuroscience and Mathematics, and in these areas the School has drawn up over 150 collaboration agreements with the world’s leading schools and research institutes.
All the scientific work carried out by SISSA researchers is published in the most prestigious scientific journals, demonstrating that Technology and knowledge transfer is a crucial and strategic SISSA activity within the more general mission of creating innovation and guaranteeing valorization of research and talents.
As project partner the research group active in Neurobiology is investigating the molecular, cellular and integrative mechanisms at work in the nervous system.
Neurobiologists seek to explain the underlying processes that ultimately account for behavior and for its dysfunction at the level of molecules, cells, networks and integrated systems. To carry out such complex studies, a variety of experimental approaches and scientific disciplines are required, ranging from mathematics and physics to biology.
